The piece portrays a body hanging upside down from a tree alluding to the tarot card ‘the hangman’. This card, when drawn in a game, represents a period of absolute sacrifice in order for the psyche structurally transform and realign itself to it’s future.

The image of the body hanging upside down translates the utilitarian and disposable comprehension of the body in a western-industrial society. More specifically with my body, symbolic of the ‘third place -mestiza' asking to redefine itself out of the scars of genocide, colonialism and patriarchy, attempting to redefine itself beyond the colonizer/colonized dichotomy, ascribed gender roles and systematic violence.
